- The OPG and Lateral Ceph licensing course is open to Dentists, Dental specialist, Oral Health Therapist, Dental Hygienists, and Dental Assistants (with Certificate IV in Dental Assistance Radiography - copy required)

- The pre-reading material/lecture handouts will be sent once you register and pay. The Zoom line will be sent to your email address two days prior to the course.
- This course is approved by various state Radiation health authorities across Australia where OPG/Lat Ceph license is a requirement, for example VIC, QLD, The NT delegates are also eligible to attend this course and apply for their licenses with the NT radiation health authority. The delegates the above states can apply for the licenses with their respective Radiation health authority by submitting the Certificate of Successful completion provided by Dr. Sholopurkar. This course would be beneficial for the SA Dental Hygienists, Dental Prosthetists, Dental Therapist, Oral health Therapists and Dental assistants who are attending the SA EPA assessments and for those who wish to upgrade their knowledge. To the best of the educator's understanding and various reviews, many SA delegates (above) have attended this course and have cleared the SA EPA exams in the first attempt
- This course consists of lecture module followed by demonstration of taking an OPG and a Lateral Ceph radiograph through two different video presentation (15-20 mins duration) directed and produced by Dr. Sholapurkar.
- After the course is over, you will be provided with a link for examination questions (open book written theory examination/quiz). The exam paper will consist about 45-50 multiple choice questions (MCQs each carrying 1 mark) alternatively exam paper may consist about 35-40 questions (each carrying 1-3 marks) and we have combination of questions like - MCQ's, fill-up the blanks, write in a sentence, write a short note on etc. The examination may take approximately 60 mins to 75 mins to complete. You are requested to complete this examination and submit the answers (online via the link itself) within two days of the completion of the course. Please note that the link will expire after 2 days. Please contact Dr. Amar Sholapurkar if you encounter any difficulty accessing the link. Dr. Sholapurkar will mark your papers within a week to 10 days' time. The delegates of all the states will have to pass by obtaining at least 50% marks (except the NSW and ACT delegates where they need to score at least 75% marks.
- Upon passing the exam, the delegates will be provided with a signed Certificate of successful completion.
- In addition to this, the delegates will also be granted 6 CPD points. As you know that this course is interactive and if the discussions prolong, then the number of CPD hours will be granted accordingly. On several occasions in the past, delegates have been granted 7 CPD hours rather than 6.
- The examination is for those who wish to obtain their licenses. Delegates who already have their licenses can still appear for the course (to upgrade their knowledge) and obtain the CPD points.
- Some additional requirements are required in some states and their regulations keep changing from time to time. Please check with your local radiation authority to see the requirements prior to attending this licensing course. Most importantly, please check with your respective Radiation health authority whether you are eligible to obtain an OPG/Lat Ceph license. Upon confirmation from the Radiation health authority, you can then register for this training course.

Dr. Amar Sholapurkar |
Dr. Amar Sholapurkar is a full time academician, Senior lecturer (Clinical Dentistry and Oral Radiology) & discipline lead of Oral Radiology at College of Medicine and Dentistry, James Cook University (JCU), Cairns, Australia. He brings to the table over 17 years of global teaching and research and experience in Dental Radiology (for both undergraduates and postgraduates), 11 of which were in Australia. Dr. Sholapurkar is presently doing a part-time PhD at JCU, Cairns Campus. In the year 2021, Dr. Amar has received the JCU Dean's learning at JCU. In addition to this he recently received the "2022 James Cook University Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning Award" for his radiology teaching.
He has completed his Masters in Oral Medicine and Radiology at the prestigious Manipal University, India. His career started in Manipal University as an Assistant Professor (Senior Lecturer) followed by Ready in Oral medicine and Radioilogy. He also worked as Assistant Professor at University in the Middle East for coupe of year.
He has published more that 50 articles in reputed peer reviewed dental journals; have contributed 11 chapters in book and has extensive conference presentations. He has published (edited) a book titled: "Publish and Flourish - Practical Guide for effective scientific writing" and selected in the editorial board/peer review committee of about 5 dental Journals. He has delivered Guest lectures/keynote lectures in Dental conventions/specialty conference/CPD activities in Australia and abroad.
Over the past few years, he has received approval from various state Radiation health authorities running the Cone-beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) licensing course and OPG/Lat Ceph licensing course across Australia. He is also actively involved in conducting two highly interactive Dental Radiology lectures titled "Interpretation of CBCT - What a dental practitioner should know?" and "2D Radiography interpretation course" across Australia and NZ. These courses are verified by the NZ dental association.
