Overview

The Micro Residency in Pediatric Dentistry Hands-on portion will cover clinical comprehensive pediatric dentistry. The session will begin with pulp therapy covering clinical keys to precision caries removal and placement of indirect pulp cap medicaments and steps to successful pulpotomies for primary teeth. Restorative techniques covered will include stainless steel crowns, pre-veneered crowns, zirconia crowns, and state-of-the-art full resin polymer crowns. Video demonstration of forceps selection and placement will ensure attendees will encounter as few root fractures while extracting teeth as possible. The day will conclude with “extracting” typodont teeth and adaption of band and loops and distal shoes. Proper loading of cement in bands and steps to prevent washout will be covered.
