Our mission is to provide a strong Oral And Maxillofacial Surgeon Association in Singapore that continually seeks to improve the quality and standard of OMFS healthcare in Singapore through workshops and education. To foster cooperation and look after the welfare of her members.
Presidents Message
Dear fellow members and friends,
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our new members and a great thank you to all the members who have been steadfastly supporting the association over the years.
After the AGM on 4th July 2019, the association has begun another chapter with a new team that will be doing its best for the association for the next 2 years. With a young and vibrant team, we will strive to fulfill our objectives; to improve the knowledge and expertise of our OMS community so we can better serve our patients, foster friendship and connections amongst our members, the larger Singapore OMS family and to grow our presence and contribute towards the global OMS fraternity.
For our local community, we will try to engage our members by providing meaningful educational opportunities and interesting interactive social events. In the coming months, there are plans for another Botulinum Toxin Injection Workshop and journal clubs with visiting overseas OMS experts. We are also working with industrial partners to bring forth educational workshops or seminars that will update our members on the latest development in the various fields of OMS. We would like to revive a social event that was a highlight amongst the members in past years, our private movie screening. All available information will be sent to members as they become available. I also hope that members will also visit our website to catch new updates.
This upcoming term is really crucial as we approach our most ambitious endeavour to date; the upcoming 14th Asian Congress on Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery(ACOMS). This international event is planned to be held on 23-25thOctober 2020 at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre, Singapore. It will be the centrepiece and focus of the current AOMSS executive committee together with the 14th ACOMS organising committee. It is our goal to create a truly world-class event that will showcase some of our uniquely Singaporelandmarks and feature a high level of scientific content that will echo our theme Perfecting the present, innovating the future. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our immediate past president Dr Seah Tian Ee, who is the current President of the Asian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, for his leadership and service. It is only through his vision and his teams hard work, that AOMSS secured the privilege to host the 14thACOMS.
The next 2 years promises to be an exciting time for our association. I urge all members to participate and support our events and be involved as either a participant or contribute towards the organisation of the 14th ACOMS. My committee and I look forward to more interaction with our OMS family in the near future.
