A physiotherapist assesses, diagnose, plan and manage the care of patients across a broad range of areas with musculoskeletal, cardiothoracic and neurological problems. They help patients with chronic disease management, provide lifestyle modification and self-management advise, prescribe aids and appliances, prescribe and supervise exercise both patients and carers and provide health promotion education, occupation health assessment and injury prevention activities.

Whereas a Chiropractor is a health care professional focused on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders, with an emphasis on treatment through manual adjustment and/or manipulation of the spine. Most chiropractors seek to reduce pain and improve the functionality of patients as well as to educate them on how they can account for their own health via exercise.

Both physiotherapy (also called physical therapy) and chiropractic focus on the use of non-invasive techniques to control pain and other symptoms. Both disciplines use practical therapy to treat specific conditions.
