Overview

Abstract

The posterior composite is the most used esthetic material in the posterior sector to fill the cavities and treat the decayed teeth. Their application is very delicate and sensitive to many factors. In this course we will drive you through the different steps in the application of the posterior composite, staring with the cavity preparation, tooth isolation and its importance, the boxing and matrix application, the bonding mechanism and its different types, the different materials for the filling, polishing and finishing.


If the posterior composite filling is not properly executed, the patient will suffer from functional sensitivity and or food impaction or recurrent caries.

Dr Nadim Aboujaoude

Lebanon

Dr Nadim Aboujaoude graduated from St Joseph University Beirut, Lebanon, in 1983 with a degree of Doctor in Dental Surgery. In 1993 he acquired a Certificate in Dental Materials from Paris VII University and received a University Diploma in Prosthodontist from the Lebanese University in 2001.

Dr Aboujaoude is a Senior Lecturer at the Lebanese University Dental School Post Graduate Program and Clinical Associate, in the Department of Orthodontics and Dento-Facial Orthopedics at the American University of Beirut Hospital in Beirut, Lebanon. He is a pioneer in Implant Prosthodontics in the Middle East, and an international lecturer. He has delivered courses and lectures on Advanced Surgical and Prosthetic Implant Courses in Lebanon, Jordan, the USA, Egypt, France United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, and the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to name only a few countries.

He is currently the President of the International College of Dentists, Middle East Section, served as the Registrar of The International College of Dentists ME Section 2008- 2016, Examiner for the DGZI in Germany for the Specialists Implant Board, President of the Jury of the Esthetic Dentistry MENA Award.

DrAboujaoude collaborated with colleagues Prof John Beumer, Prof Roy Sabri, and Prof Nabil Barakat to publish a book: Fundamentals of Implant Dentistry: Prosthetic Principles, Volume 1 (Quintessence 2015). He also has plublicications on a variety of topics such as L’orthodontie adulte pour une meilleure prothèse, Agénésie des incisives latérales maxillaires: approche orthodontique et implantaire, and Influence of Prosthetic parameters on the survival and complication rates of short implants.
