Lecture

Aimed at the whole dental team to discuss the most modern, gentle and cost effective techniques available for periodontal and implant maintenance. Participants will discover Guided Biofilm Therapy and learn why it integrates with the modern concept of preventive and minimally invasive dentistry. Key topics include: how to make periodontal treatments more effective and more enjoyable to you, your patients and dental practice.

Hands-on Workshop (Clinician-on-Clincian)

This workshop is the ideal platform for dental professionals wanting to perfect themselves. Participants will have an opportunity to follow the complete Guided Biofilm Therapy protocol step-by-step first on simulation models and then clinically on one another in the clinic chair. Dental professionals will learn to maximize efficiency and patient comfort.


Learn how to

  • Correctly utilise supra and sub gingival air polishing devices to eliminate biofilm prior to hard deposit removal
  • Correctly apply ultrasonic instrumentation for optimal hard deposit removal
  • Specific Conditions upon Registration


Full Day Participants must:

  • Be willing to practice on each other
  • Hold a current registration with the Dental Board of Australia and be willing to show certificate if requested
  • Provide Professional Indemnity Insurance Certificate including Civil Liability

Providers Terms

All cancellations must be received in writing via email to [email protected] Delegates will receive 75% of their registration back if they cancel 2-4 weeks prior to the course. If the delegate cancels 1-2 weeks prior to the course, they receive 50% of their registration fee.

Dr Christopher Barker

Dr Barker graduated dental school with Honours at the University of Adelaide in 2004. He worked in government and private practice for a number of years before completing a Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry, specialising in Periodontology at Griffith University in 2014. Chris was awarded a grant from the Australian Periodontology Research Foundation for his doctoral research which was an investigation of bone and modifying factors of bone resorption and bone production.

He is an admitted fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and has completed the Long Surgical Course Certification from Implant Team International (ITI). Chris has been a clinical instructor at Griffith University. Chris is a member of the Australian Society of Periodontology (ASP), Queensland branch, the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP), International Team for Implantology (ITI), the Australian Osseointegration Society (AOS) and the Australian Dental Association (ADA).
