Course Overview

This is a unique 2 day limited attendance practical hands-on program focusing on the clinical and laboratory digital denture workflow.


The course will be conducted by John Batchelor and Deborah Bassett who will provide live patient demonstrations as well as planning and manufacturing demonstrations. Many elements of the course will allow participants to have hands-on experience with the software, patient interaction and manufacturing processes.


Day 1:

  • Live patient demonstrations; primary impressions
  • CAD design special trays
  • 3D print special trays
  • Design a Full Denture in CAD
  • 3D printing try–in of full denture
  • Retry workflow will be demonstrated
  • Course Dinner


Day 2:

  • Try-in denture – live demonstration
  • Copy denture and immediate dentures will be discussed and demonstrated
  • Denture relines the digital way
  • Manufacturing the final denture
  • Finishing a digital denture
  • Advanced software and hardware demonstrations
  • This course will include practical hands-on exercises for each step so therefore numbers are strictly limited.

Deborah Bassett

Deborah started her journey in the dental trade 28 years ago as a Dental assistant before moving to Cardiff to attend University of Wales – graduating as a Dental technician. She worked as a crown and bridge technician in Cardiff for 3 years while attending university before travelling back to NZ to continue as a Dental technician with a crown and bridge laboratory in Christchurch. Deborah is fortunate to have worked with a highly skilled team at Duchenne Dental doing removable prosthetics for 10 years now and have regularly attended premium denture courses in BPS over the past years. Since 2015 Debora has skilled herself with the latest CAM/CAD technology in digital dentistry and introduced a digital workflow within the laboratory.

John Batchelor

John Batchelor holds qualifications in Dental Technology, Clinical Dental Technology and a Restricted Scope of practice in Implant Overdentures. He has built his reputation, state-of-the-art dental laboratory, and 13 clinical practices in New Zealand around continuing education, continual improvements, and keeping up with the latest trends, techniques and developments in dental technology. John is a certified BPS® instructor, an experienced denturist and a Key Opinion Leader for digital dentures. In 2018, John was appointed by Dr Abe as one of the few global Dr Abe SEMCD (Suction Effective Mandibular Complete Denture) instructors.
