Advanced Hand Instrumentation for Efficient Management in Periodontics

Overview

This program will look at the role of debridement and the options for debridement and then focus on hand instrumentation. This is a combined program of lectures and hands on activity. Hand instrumentation can be the simplest and most comfortable method of debridement, when it is done well. The aim of this program is to improve your hand instrumentation skills and keep your patients comfortable, healthy and happy to come back.


At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the role of debridement in periodontal treatment and the options available.
  • Learn periodontal instrument identification and sharpening.
  • Carry out instrument selection and application.


Demonstration and hands-On

Periodontal instrument identification, instrument sharpening, selection of the right instrument for the site and how to use it. The application exercise will be on dental models with deposits.
